Nuts about this primer!

Max Factor primer 2

I happened to come across this Max Factor Primer last week while looking at the make-up that was on sale at Clicks. This primer was unfortunately not on sale, but is well worth it’s price. Primer has become one of my key make-up products in the morning and I always feel ready to tackle anything if I’ve applied it before my make-up. After application this primer sinks straight into my skin and instantly makes it feel matt. It also has an SPF of 20 which is perfect for when you are outdoors in summer (don’t forget your sunscreen and hat though). At the end of the day, my make-up still looks great and is firmly in place, without any hint of shine. It really does extend the wear of my foundation. This is a huge feat considering it’s summer here and the last few days have been sweltering hot. The ladies at Clicks told me that this is end of range, and if it is I am really sorry to hear that. It’s a fantastic primer that is affordably priced at R185. I may just have to go buy another one before they disappear for good.

Mani Monday – Secluded Beach

I love it when I scratch through my box of nail polishes and I find a fab colour I didn’t remember I had. Secluded Beach is the most recent discovery in my box. I was given this nude-mauve nail enamel at a Cosmo and Revlon event and haven’t used it since that day that we did nail art. After wearing it today, I’m not quite sure why I never wore it again? It is simply gorgeous and looked great with the navy, white and gold outfit I wore. The photos I took don’t really do it justice, you have to see it in person to appreciate it. I applied 3 coats of Secluded Beach because if you only do two coats it’s a little light. Yay for finding pretty colours you never knew (remembered) you had!

Day 1 of 2015

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful evening last and relaxing day today. I spent the morning reading in bed while it was raining, and as soon as the sun came out I quickly put my bikini on and spent the afternoon tanning and swimming. Today was a wonderful start to my 2015!

There have been quite a few pics posted online that do a good job of summing up how everyone’s feeling about 2014 and 2015. So much has changed since this time last year and even though I wasn’t always sure why things played out the way they did, I am grateful to be alive, healthy, breathing, and stronger than before.

These are some of the posts that I really liked:

I love inspirational quotes, and often sit for ages going through the ones on Pinterest. These ones really inspired me for this brand-new year:

As for resolutions, I never stick to them for the full year. So for 2015, my aim is to continue to improve my fitness, eat clean, and make more time to do the things I love.

Wishing you all of the best for the year ahead!

Gold flash tattoos

I first saw gold flash tattoos on Pinterest and was quite curious to find out more about them because I wasn’t sure if they had been painted on some of the people in the pictures. I then saw some of the contestants on the reality show Bachelor in Paradise wearing them and loved how they look on tanned skin! Flash tattoos are gorgeous temporary tattoos that look great when teamed up with accessories – I would love to pair them with turquoise jewellery. In SA they retail for about R200 plus, which I think is a bit steep, but if they last for a full week without rubbing off then that’s not too bad. I saw them on display at a shop in Parkhust about 2 weeks ago and am sure you can find them online too.

If you don’t know what flash tattoos are, here are some pics I found on Pinterest:
