Fun in the Sun Sunshine, dips in the pool and sundowners on the beach may be some of the things we love most about summer, but the fact of the matter remains that our hair doesn’t always love the effects … Continue reading
Argan oil has been THE buzzword in hair care for quite some time now. I’m a huge fan of argan oil and couldn’t wait to try out the Inoar Argan Oil. The first thing you’ll notice when you open the bottle is the amazing smell this oil has – it’s so comforting! The oil is nice and thick so you don’t need to use a lot of it. I usually rough dry my hair and then pour a very small amount into my hands, rub them together and smooth the oil evenly throughout the strands. Then I rough dry a little more and blow dry it. If I don’t feel like drying my hair I just smooth the oil evenly throughout the strands and leave it to dry naturally. Once I have applied this oil I never have to worry about my hair going frizzy. It feels silky soft and has that amazing smell all day! I have been really happy with the results I’ve achieved after using this treatment oil.
Inoar’s Argan Oil is rich in vitamins and anti-oxidants and restores the shine and flexibility that your hair has lost. Repeatedly using styling products and tools (especially ones that heat up) can really damage your hair if you don’t protect it and nourish it. This treatment oil provides the moisturisation that your dry hair desperately needs and it does a great job at controlling frizziness!
You can order the Inoar Argan Oil from the Inoar website, by phoning (012) 686 7067 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
“This product is liquid gold and a must for everyone” – Inoar
Thank you Danielle for giving me the Inoar Argan Oil to try out.
When we were in Vietnam in December last year I found these really awesome hair thingy-ma-bobs (had no idea what to call them) in the big market in Ho Chi Minh city. I had seen so many girls with them … Continue reading
These are a few products I’ve been using and have been happy with the results.
Nivea Body Moisturiser Cocoa Butter
I love anything that smells like coconut and cocoa butter so I was thrilled when I found this. This cream is lovely and thick and has a divine smell which I find I can’t get enough of. It will be perfect in the colder months as it leaves my skin feeling soothed and doesn’t leave it feeling sticky.
Nivea Men Power Refresh Shower Gel
Now the you must be thinking “Hang on, there’s the word ‘men’ in that name?” Yip you are right, there is. This is a men’s shower gel that I couldn’t help but buy because of it’s awesome aqua colour that called out to me every time I walked past in the aisle. Even though it’s a men’s product it smells great on me and I love how it foams.
Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser Skin Conditioner for Dry Skin
The first time I saw this I was a little doubtful that it would work as well as applying moisturiser once you step out of the shower. Well I was pleasantly surprised at how well it does work. It’s perfect for those chilly days when you really don’t want to get out of the warm shower, which ends up leaving you with less time to get ready for work or an evening out. I chose the rich one for dry skin and love it’s thick texture. This will be ideal for the colder months.
Avon Moisture IQ Shampoo and Conditioner – for all hair types
I have really oily roots and dry tips from heat styling and colouring my hair. The Moisture IQ range is the perfect range for hair like mine because its moisture knows where it’s needed. After using it my hair feels soft, is shiny and doesn’t feel weighed down. It also doesn’t make my hair fluffy which other products like this tend to do.
Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan Oil Heat Infusion Treatment – for all hair types
This heat infusing treatment is yet another product which is great for my dry tips. One box contains 6 of these little tubes which are little gems filled with an argan oil treatment. Pop one in a cup of boiling water for a minute, apply after you’ve shampooed, leave on for a few minutes and rinse. And voila, you’ve spoilt your hair to its very own treatment.
Solutions Make-Up Removing Eyepads
I never go to bed with make-up on! I would rather trudge to the bathroom half asleep and stand there, still half asleep, and wash my face until I’ve removed all of my make-up. These eye make-up remover pads already contain make-up removing solution and are great for removing waterproof eyeliner and mascara. So if you are too tired to wash your face then give these a go. They are also great to take with you to gym or for a weekend away.
Clean & Clear Fruit Essentials Facial Cleanser Energising Berry
I found this face wash in a small supermarket in Papua, Indonesia, and wish we got it in South Africa. It smells like strawberries when you use it, contains small bursting beads filled with energy that pop on your skin and help flush out impurities, is oil free and won’t clog your pores. I have dry skin and it hasn’t irritated it or dried it out. Oh, and I can’t get enough of the yummy smell when using it!
I blow dry and ghd my hair a lot so I need to protect my hair as much as I can from all that heat so that I don’t damage it. I am often let down by heat protection products … Continue reading
I’ve done a French braid in my hair a couple of times lately and have had so many people ask me how to do one. Here is a video where Lauren Conrad does a great job of showing you how simple it is. I don’t usually put an elastic in the top but if you are starting out and would like the extra help then definitely use one. When you get the hang of it then try do a braid without out one in.
Spring is here and I can finally swop my boots, jeans and jerseys for maxi skirts, tank tops and sandals. Saturday was lovely and warm in Jozi and I look forward to many more days of skirts, shorts and tees. … Continue reading
I am forever buying accessories for my hair and this weekend I went dotty for these! Hair bands – R49.99 from Dischem Hair clips – R29.99 from Woolworths
I found this great video explaining how to do a top knot bun. Again this looks better if it is a little messier. I do this with dry hair and wet hair if I’m running late in the morning and don’t have time to dry it first before work.
Lauren Conrad demonstrates how to do a fishtail plait. I don’t use the elastic at the top but it may be helpful for the first time you try this out. This plait is not supposed to look too neat so don’t worry if it looks a bit messy and uneven when you do it.
