Last week I attended Avon’s launch of their newest fragrance, Aspire Essence. The event took place on the 20th floor of The Venue, which has a breathtaking view of Sandton. Before any of us had had a chance to smell … Continue reading
I’ve seen a few bloggers do posts on products they’ve really enjoyed and I wanted to share some my April favourites with you. These are the products I really enjoyed using this last month and were generally the first that … Continue reading
These are a few products I’ve been using and have been happy with the results.
Nivea Body Moisturiser Cocoa Butter
I love anything that smells like coconut and cocoa butter so I was thrilled when I found this. This cream is lovely and thick and has a divine smell which I find I can’t get enough of. It will be perfect in the colder months as it leaves my skin feeling soothed and doesn’t leave it feeling sticky.
Nivea Men Power Refresh Shower Gel
Now the you must be thinking “Hang on, there’s the word ‘men’ in that name?” Yip you are right, there is. This is a men’s shower gel that I couldn’t help but buy because of it’s awesome aqua colour that called out to me every time I walked past in the aisle. Even though it’s a men’s product it smells great on me and I love how it foams.
Nivea In-Shower Body Moisturiser Skin Conditioner for Dry Skin
The first time I saw this I was a little doubtful that it would work as well as applying moisturiser once you step out of the shower. Well I was pleasantly surprised at how well it does work. It’s perfect for those chilly days when you really don’t want to get out of the warm shower, which ends up leaving you with less time to get ready for work or an evening out. I chose the rich one for dry skin and love it’s thick texture. This will be ideal for the colder months.
Avon Moisture IQ Shampoo and Conditioner – for all hair types
I have really oily roots and dry tips from heat styling and colouring my hair. The Moisture IQ range is the perfect range for hair like mine because its moisture knows where it’s needed. After using it my hair feels soft, is shiny and doesn’t feel weighed down. It also doesn’t make my hair fluffy which other products like this tend to do.
Avon Advance Techniques 360 Nourishment Moroccan Argan Oil Heat Infusion Treatment – for all hair types
This heat infusing treatment is yet another product which is great for my dry tips. One box contains 6 of these little tubes which are little gems filled with an argan oil treatment. Pop one in a cup of boiling water for a minute, apply after you’ve shampooed, leave on for a few minutes and rinse. And voila, you’ve spoilt your hair to its very own treatment.
Solutions Make-Up Removing Eyepads
I never go to bed with make-up on! I would rather trudge to the bathroom half asleep and stand there, still half asleep, and wash my face until I’ve removed all of my make-up. These eye make-up remover pads already contain make-up removing solution and are great for removing waterproof eyeliner and mascara. So if you are too tired to wash your face then give these a go. They are also great to take with you to gym or for a weekend away.
Clean & Clear Fruit Essentials Facial Cleanser Energising Berry
I found this face wash in a small supermarket in Papua, Indonesia, and wish we got it in South Africa. It smells like strawberries when you use it, contains small bursting beads filled with energy that pop on your skin and help flush out impurities, is oil free and won’t clog your pores. I have dry skin and it hasn’t irritated it or dried it out. Oh, and I can’t get enough of the yummy smell when using it!
I decided I felt like a lil mint on my nails for this week. I used Essence’s Colour & Go shade called That’s What I Mint! Later today while looking at pics on Instagram I saw more and more beautiful … Continue reading
Clinique Moisture Surge Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 Catrice Absolute Nude Eyeshadow Avon Glimmerstick Diamonds in Brown Sugar Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Lash Enhancing Mascara Top Shop Cream Blush Avon Ultra Glazewear Lipgloss SPF 15 in Rich Raspberry
Usually I get dressed up on Christmas day and wear a dress or skirt to family lunches. Today I felt quite laid-back and decided to rather just dress casually for lunch. The weather is overcast and drizzling and all I want to do is curl up under a blanket and watch TV all day.
Today’s casual OOTD was:
baseball top (PnP clothing)
boyfriend jeans (Woolworths)
glitter slop/sandals (Woolworths)
assorted silver jewellery (inherited, Gems & Jewels and YDE)
For my make-up I chose to do neutral eyes, bronzed cheeks and a bright coral lip. As for my hair I tied it up in a ponytail.
I know, I missed the 28 October reveal of this wonderbrush. Better late than never. How interesting is this new Mega Effects mascara? It’s a new take on a mascara’s wand that had me a little confused the first time … Continue reading
People often guess my age and get it wrong and I still get IDd at many venues. I’ve been really lucky not to have aged very quickly and still look younger than I am. When people guess my age they usually guess 4 years younger than I actually am.
Last year I discovered Avon’s Genics range. I’d heard a lot of people’s raving about this range and decided I had to try it. I bought the cream first and tried it out. It smells amazing and was just the moisture boost I needed during the dry and cold months to keep my skin happy. I could really see an improvement in my skin after using the moisturiser for a month. I later purchased the treatment and use both of them at night. The cream is too thick to be used during the day.
Genics has great claims, the biggest one being that it leaves you looking up to 10 years younger! It dramatically reduces the appearance of discolorations and wrinkles and leaves skin feeling firmer. I will definitely have Genics as my skincare routine for years to come!
Today I’m wearing Avon’s Speed Dry+ in Pronto Purple. The tagline is “wet to wow in 30 seconds” and yip, it really does dry in 30 seconds which is great for those days when you simply don’t have time to … Continue reading
