Cleaning your make-up brushes

Make up brushes

I am TERRIBLE at cleaning my make-up brushes. I think that is partly the reason why I have so many of them. I just keep using a new one when one has been used a few times. I also don’t spend a lot of money on my make-up brushes because I would rather buy a new lipstick or lipgloss. I wanted to do a post on cleaning your make-up brushes and the importance of doing that regularly, but then I came across Chereen’s post on It’s a really great post and definitely worth the read! So instead of writing a post, I’m going to suggest you read her post instead. I use baby shampoo to wash my brushes and really need to invest in some brush cleaning spray. So I am consciously making an effort to clean my brushes more often now. I can’t in the mornings before work as I never have enough time, but now that it’s getting warmer I am going to try at night so that they are ready for the next morning.

  1. Aah, thank you so much for the blog love, Tanya! It really means so much – so glad you found the post useful 🙂 PS: You TOTALLY need to invest in a few brushes… I find that some of the more ‘high-end’ brushes (particularly foundation and blush brushes) really do work so much better than the cheaper options.

    • The most expensive brush I have ever bought was a foundation brush 🙂 I do want more brushes, but I must say the MAC lipstick counter does a pretty good job of grabbing my attention when I am in there. Will make a real effort to get some better brushes by the end of the year 🙂

    • Thanks for the tip. I saw them using it in the store the other day and considered it but I was already buying a whole bunch of stuff. So will have to go back and get it 🙂
